This post has nothing to do with XStreet, rather to do with my 300+ book library which I have been developing a new way to organise. I've made my opinion clear in the SLUniverse forums though... I don't intend to blog about XStreet at all, because it's just not high on my list of important things. Basically I lump it in the "the sky is falling again" and everything will be sorta back to normal again in a few weeks, months? Not that "normal" on XStreet is anything to brag about :P I'm not against the fees in general, aside from the size of the freebie fee, which I think penalises skin creators (harder to distribute demos) and open source devs (scripts most merchants rely on for biz) unnecessarily. XStreet needs to reorganise on top of the fees, till they do that... it's just a bandaid. It should help limit cheap listings from folks reselling the copyrighted content from other graphics sites though. At least make them more expensive so that real texture creators in SL have a level playing field.

I'm actually glad to see people put more focus on their inworld selling again, it's where people should be in SL. Though it wasn't a very pleasant way for a lot of folks to refocus that way.

I have unlocked the meaning of the reason to do visual proems... also of Lucretius. They always open with a story, a vision, a mental image that the philosopher or priest wishes to communicate.

As the wave rises, it must also fall.

If the wave is just a ripple, life is peaceful.

If the wave is a tsunami, the fall from the top is precipitous.

It is impossible for one to live pleasurably without living prudently and honorably and justly, and also without living courageously and temperately and magnanimously, and without making friends and without being philanthropic, and in general without having all the other virtues. For the greatest errors in things we choose or avoid occur when some people accomplish individual actions while they hold the opposite view and, because of that, are in the grip of vices.

Philodemus, from "On Choices and Avoidances"
